Media and the Myth of Society's Impact On Global Warming

Why do people believe they are contributing to global warming? I believe society is strongly influenced because the media portrays global warming as a worldwide crisis caused by human-made emissions of carbon molecules; rarely do they ever point out geological facts - global warming and global cooling is cyclic. Let's face it; the media is in the business of making money - and sensational stories tend to draw larger audiences.

Global Warming - Opposition to "An Inconvenient Truth"

The more I research the topic of global warming the more I understand that there are very controversialal views - even among the scientific experts. Most of the articles and videos that I have reviewed seemed to have divided society either: for or against the environment. I would venture to say that the average person is certainly not against the environment and furthermore the average person is probably acting prudent when it comes to issues such as recycling, conservation and so forth.I believe the root cause of this societal issue is twofold. One - clearly a lack of "agreed upon" scientific data. Two - the media. The media has a propensity to sensationalize their stories so as to keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next tidbit of information.
